NOTE FROM MARIE TO BLOGGERS:

To my fellow bloggers: I am sending my first bulletin regarding my situation, health-wise. I deeply appreciate the good wishes you have sent me and it is touching to know I’m not forgotten. I have had a very illness-free life so it was a surprise when I had a life-threatening medical emergency necessitating surgery followed by two months in hospital and another 4-5 months under the care of a hospital-in-the-home service. I am improving from day to day. I am pleased to report that I have regained strength in walking (now without aids) and I am becoming more independent and almost well enough to cope with living alone. My daughter saved my life in so many ways. She refused to give up on me and she nagged and bullied (in the nicest possible way) and persuaded me to believe the fight was worth fighting. She lives in the same street only a minute or two away if help is needed.

My problems melt into insignificance with the pandemic now affecting the lives of every person living on the planet. I wish you all a safe journey through the mayhem of life changing rules and the attack on the economy.

Take a Word Challenge - Green

The theme word this week is GREEN.  St Patrick's Day is on March 17 but your green art doesn't have to refer to that.  Any green will do!!
My heritage is 100% Irish.  In the late 1700's, the Irish people rose up in a rebellion against Britain and they wore the colour green to identify themselves as rebels.  Believe it or not, "the wearing of the green" was prohibited and the penalties were severe, the most common one being transportation to what was then called "Van Diemen's Land" (now Australia!).  My ancestors came to Australia in the 1840's but I would quite like having a convict as an ancestor!
Have fun with green.

Take a Word Challenge - Recipes

This week our theme is RECIPES.  Lizbeth has created this beautiful picture to inspire us and she has asked me to add the following: " I was honoured (and a little terrified) to be asked to come up with a challenge.  After a couple of sleepless nights, my (deceased) Grandmother came to my assistance.  She reminded me that I have a few pages of her handwritten recipes just begging to be used in some way.  I scanned them up and used a couple as background, and one as an overlay.  Credit: my Grandma, and Marta Van Eck, and the unknown donor of the photo".

Many thanks to Lizbeth.  Have fun everyone.

Take a Word Challenge - MOO

This week our theme is the MOO which is a tiny card 1.10 inches x 2.8 inches (2.79 x 7.11cm  ).  It is OK to enlarge them for a better view as long as the ratio between length and breadth is correct.  Have fun with MOOS!  (They can become addictive).
Season's Greetings to you all.

Take a Word Challenge - 'Tis the Season

What does Christmas mean to me?  The usual things, of course.  Catching up with family members, celebrating the true Christmas meaning and, of course, enjoying the typical Christmas dinner.  Christmas also means hot weather which causes a certain amount of crankiness!!  Some people cling to the old traditions but here in my part of the world times are changing and the celebration is likely to be a picnic by the river or at the beach (if not too hot) or a barbecue in the backyard.  For most people a swim in the ocean or the pool is a "must do".
Christmas and Hanukkah greetings from Ann, Bev and Marie.  We hope it is peaceful and happy.
